Ballinamallard Primary and Community Nursery School celebrated the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Thursday, May 4 with a day of events including a special parade through the village.
To mark the special day, pupils dressed up and enjoyed a picnic lunch outside, followed by ice cream.
Also on the day, there were bouncy castles, sponsored by Severfield, and face painting courtesy of some of the primary school’s Year 7 pupils.
The whole school then came together for a Coronation parade through Ballinamallard, starting at 1.30pm.
Speaking to The Impartial Reporter, Christina McEldowney, principal, said: “We had a tractor, a vintage car and our piper to lead the parade, with thanks to Mr. Dunne, Mr. Ogle and Mr. Haire respectively.
“Thank you to everyone who came out to watch and support our school. Thanks also to the PSNI and the volunteers who helped with traffic control on the day.
“A big thank-you to everyone who was involved in the planning and preparations, especially Mrs. Magee!
“And thank you for an anonymous donation made to the school to pay for the ice cream van and the coins,” she added.
The children also received a special Coronation souvenir coin and book on the day. The books were from Colin Tinsley, of Hope for Youth Ministries.
“A fantastic day of fun was had by all,” Mrs. McEldowney told this newspaper.
