A man who was stopped by police driving an uninsured car admitted he knew there was no insurance in place.
On February 4, police were on mobile patrol on Queen Street, Enniskillen when they observed a Vauxhall Corsa driving in the direction of Wellington Road.
Checks showed there was no insurance in place, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.
They stopped the car and spoke to the driver – Jacek Stanislaw Roguz (27), of Sycamore Drive, Enniskillen – and advised him there was no insurance in place.
He immediately admitted he knew this was the case, the court heard.
Roguz's solicitor, Gary Black, told the court his client had insurance in place with AXA, but due to a failed direct debit payment the policy was cancelled, and this was communicated to Roguz.
He said Roguz was fully aware of the cancelled policy, and he should not have been driving.
Mr. Black asked the court to give Roguz credit for his clear criminal record, full and frank admission, and his timely guilty plea.
For having no insurance, Roguz was handed six penalty points and a £200 fine.
