There was a large entry of livestock from the south-west of Northern Ireland at this year's Balmoral Show.

While Wednesday was dull with some rain showers, the weather at this year's event improved as the week continued.

There were successes in the sheep breeds for Matthew Burleigh and Andrew McCutcheon, lifting the champion and reserve titles.

Matthew went on to take the reserve in the sheep interbreed. Ryan McLaren from Dromore took the honours in the Berrichon breed, while Rodney Balfour took the Ile de France championship title.

In the cattle classes, Fintan Keown, Belleek lifted the Aberdeen Angus championship title with just one animal at the Show, his yearling bull, which also won the junior and male championship, while Nigel Edwards and Michele McCauley of N and M Moilies took the breed championship title in those classes.
