A bottle of Buckfast has cost one Lisnaskea man £75 after he was convicted of theft at Enniskillen Magistrates Court.

Christopher John Williams (41), of Trasna Way, Lisnaskea stole the £8.59 bottle of Buckfast from Reilly Off Sales, Lisnaskea on March 17.

Police were alerted to the theft of two bottles of Buckfast by the injured party, and when reviewing CCTV footage officers were able to identify Williams and his co-accused.

They pair were arrested and both made full admissions at interview, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.

Sean McHugh, solicitor for Williams, told the court his client's co-accused had entered a guilty plea the week before.

He said his client had accepted his involvement in the incident and also added he suffered from addiction issues, and asked the court to deal with him as leniently as possible.

For the charge of theft, Williams, who is currently in custody in Maghaberry Prison, was given a £75 fine.
