A new initiative has been launched to support entrepreneurs in the Mid-West and South-West regions of Northern Ireland.

Techstart Ventures, an early-stage investor, teamed-up with The Workhouse in Enniskillen to introduce the InnovateWest Initiative Proof of Concept Grant Competition.

The competition, launched on October 24, offers a prize fund of £20,000 to entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland.

It aims to provide much-needed funding to help these entrepreneurs develop their innovative business ideas.

The proof of concept grant competition is part of Techstart's ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship across the region, extending support beyond Greater Belfast.

It offers local founders the chance to secure financial backing and expert guidance for their innovative concepts.

Kate McGrath, business manager at The Workhouse, said: "We are delighted to partner with Techstart Ventures on the ‘InnovateWest Initiative,’ which offers local entrepreneurs the opportunity to take their business ideas to the next level.

"Supporting innovation in the region is at the core of what we do, and this partnership aligns perfectly with our mission."

Josh Corry, investment analyst at Techstart Ventures, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs outside of Greater Belfast.

"We are excited to bring the ‘InnovateWest Initiative’ to the Mid-West and South-West regions of Northern Ireland.

"We believe that great ideas exist everywhere, and this collaboration will help unlock the potential of innovators from these regions."

The InnovateWest Initiative Proof of Concept Grant Competition aims to empower local entrepreneurs by providing the financial resources necessary to test the commercial viability of their business ideas.
