Meat processor, Dunbia has taken part in Anuga Food Fair in Germany show-casing it’s red meat capabilities to a global audience.

Anuga, the largest food show of its kind in the world attracted over 150,000 visitors from retail trade, food service and catering markets across the world.

Speaking at Anuga, Michael Doran, Dunbia Sales & Marketing Director said: “Anuga is one of the most important trade shows for Dunbia in terms of developing our existing customer base and attracting new customers. This is an ideal show case for Dunbia as we aim to grow our export markets.” Dunbia is currently exporting to over 36 countries world-wide with a wide portfolio of beef, lamb and pork products. “Dunbia is one of only a few multi-species processors with the capability of producing carcass and vacuum packed primals and a full range of diced, minced and burger products as well as added value and ready to cook convenience meals,” adds Mr Doran. “We tailor our products to meet the needs of our customers who come from the food service, commercial, manufacturing and retail sectors.” Dunbia attended Anuga on the Invest NI stand, which promoted Northern Ireland’s Pure Natural Quality. “Northern Ireland is renowned for our grass-fed, natural meat which produces quality, flavoursome products,” continues Mr Doran. “Dunbia was proud to represent our local producers on the global stage at Anuga and highlight the quality of the livestock produced here.” A delegation from the Ulster Farmers’ Union also attended the trade show in Cologne.

The show provided UFU representatives including various committee chairmen with an opportunity to view Northern Irelands’ display on the international stage, lobby industry representatives as well as discussing marketing issues with both local and foreign processors. With such a huge display of products from all over the world, this was an ideal opportunity for the UFU to examine the full extent of the global food market and assess the marketing capabilities of competing export nations.
