Inez Maude Carson, aged 79 years, of 69 Skea Road, Arney, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2016, at the South West Acute Hospital.

Inez was born on January 17, 1934, to Bob and Georgina McCutcheon. Inez met and later married Harry Carson on October 10, 1953. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2013 with a telegram from the Queen.

After living at Cherrymount, they moved to Harry’s native Arney where they went on to have 10 children, sadly one of whom died at birth.

After Inez’s youngest child started school she took up employment in the Erne Hospital CSSD department; she later took up employment in Coleshill Home where she was a cook to the elderly for 11 years until ill health took over and she had to retire.

Inez also served part time in the Ulster Defence Regiment where she was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Inez had a great love of gardening and took great pride in creating a beautiful garden surrounding the family home. She also had a love for cooking and baking which filled her spare time. She and Harry also enjoyed many years holidaying in their mobile home in Portrush.

After Harry took a stroke in 1993 Inez became his main carer. She learned to drive and they joined the Chest Heart and Stroke Wednesday Club which they both enjoyed attending each week until her passing.

Inez is survived by her husband Harry, children Helen (Jimmy), Leslie, Alan (Katrina), Ronnie (Anne), Barbara (Davy), Jenny (Jeff), Georgina (Leslie), Gillian (Osmond), and Nigel (Amanda). She also leaves 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, her brothers Ivan, Kenneth, David and sisters Eileen and Edith. She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Sadie and Thelma and brother Eric.
