The death occurred peacefully at the South West Acute Hospital of Mrs. Charlotte Alice (Lottie) Reynolds, late of Claraghy, Brookeborough.

Lottie, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 13, 1934, the youngest and last surviving member of six children born to the late Andrew and Mary Jane Pennell.

The family grew up in Tiermoonan, Kinawley, where she was educated at Swanlinbar National School and attended Swanlinbar Church of Ireland.

On leaving school, Lottie began her working life in the ladies’ fashion department of D.F. Clarke, Enniskillen. After several years, she moved to the drapery department of F.A. Wellworths, Enniskillen, where she became drapery supervisor.

On June 25, 1970, she married Harry Reynolds and they made their very happy home in Rathkeeland, Maguiresbridge. They were later blessed with their daughter Trudy.

The family moved to their present home in Claraghy, Brookeborough in October 2003.

Lottie’s interests were very much focused on her home and family. She was well known for her excellent home cooking and baking.

Lottie was very fond of animals and was particularly interested in birds.
Outside the home, she enjoyed coach trips and holidays. She attended the theatre regularly enjoying various plays and listening to Country and Gospel artists.

Throughout her life, she had endured several periods of ill health, especially in the last two years of her life. She bore it always with great patience, courage and determination, guided by a strong lifelong Christian faith.

She attended Church weekly and enjoyed supporting Church functions until her health failed, however, her faith remained true and steadfast to the end.

The importance of Lottie’s Christian faith was emphasised during the inspiring Service of Thanksgiving conducted by the Rev. Gary McMurray on February 23, 2017, in Aghavea Parish Church. Many who attended, reflected on how meaningful and personally challenging the service had been to them.

Lottie’s cheerful personality was shown in her very own personal choice of uplifting faith affirming hymns, “When we walk with the Lord,” “To God be the Glory,” and “When the Trumpet of the Lord shall Sound.”

After the service, Lottie was buried in the adjoining Church graveyard.

Family and friends have described Lottie as fun loving, kind, caring and very generous. She will also be remembered for her wonderful smiling face and mischievous sense of humour.

Lottie loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed by her husband Harry and daughter Trudy. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Joy Pennell and Winnie Armstrong, also by her cousins, nieces and nephews and wider family circle.

She was predeceased by her three brothers Bobby, Willie and Matt and by her two sisters May (Wilson) and Annie (Johnston).

Lottie has left her family with a wealth of happy memories and funny stories to cherish and share forever. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Austen Stinson, W.T. Morrison, Funeral Directors, Darling Street, Enniskillen.
