The Spooktacular further cemented itself as one of the major events in the Fermanagh sporting calendar with over 1200 runners taking to the street of Enniskillen last Friday night to participate over the 5K course.
The popular event caters for runners of all abilities, ranges and ages from the elite runner to those taking part in fancy dress.
Karen Dolan, a member of the organising committee, was delighted with how the night went.
“It was a massive success and we were delighted with the large number that turned out to take part in the Spooktacular. We would like to thank everybody who helped to make it such a good night. This was a big community effort with over 100 volunteers giving up their time. We also have to acknowledge the tremendous support and assistance given by the local PSNI especially Constable Noel Barton. They help to make the Spooktacular a safe night time run and the biggest participation sporting event in Fermanagh. On another note, a big thanks to Enniskillen Skip Hire who stepped in at very short notice to clear up over 1000 water bottles at the end,” she said.
On the night there was a stunning run by Belfast Half Marathon winner, Gideon Kipsang, running for Derry City Track Club, who smashed the course record with an unbelievable time of 14.42mins. He stormed around the course to finish ahead of former Irish 5000m track champion Conor Duffy of Glaslough Harriers with last year’s winner Scott Rankin, Foyle Valley AC, third.
