Both the Fermanagh Premier and Junior sides picked up points from their opening encounters at this year's Super Cup NI which got underway today (Monday).

The Juniors were first in action with a game against Plymouth Argyle at Broughshane and Ally Irwin's side drew first blood as they took the lead in the 28th minute.

A driving run from midfield by Kostadin Nikolov saw the midfielder play in Jamal Tavares, who unleashed a tremendous effort from distance beyond Lewis Moyle and into the top corner to give Fermanagh the advantage at the interval.

However, the English outfit were back on level terms early in the second half as Oscar Massey slotted beyond Fermanagh goalkeeper Nathan Copeland for 1-1.

Plymouth then pushed for a winner but Fermanagh stood firm to secure a well earned point to get their campaign off to a positive start.

Next up was Scott Robinson's side although they suffered a set back in their preparations when original opponents Spatrak Moscow were unable to compete due to visa issues and were replaced by National Select NI side for the game in Portstewart.

The Erne side were also to take a half time lead as Conor Courtney bundled home at the baclk post from a low Conor Love cross.

The Natioanl Select side though responded and they equalised 20 minutes into the second half with a superb dipping strike from Matthew Stevenson for 1-1.

And with neither side able to find a winner, that's the way it finished.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) the Juniors face  Co Antrim at 12noon at Broughshane, Ballymena while the Premier side also take on Co. Antrim at Broughshane at 5pm.
