Castle Hume President Fred Cowan played host to a large number of visitors and members as he celebrated his President's Day event. With the Castle Hume course in immaculate condition and the greens running very slick, it was left to the President to place some very interesting pin positions to add to the enjoyment factor of the big day.

Matthew McConkey, enjoying some of the best golf of his life, was in outstanding form as he played a very controlled and skilful game of golf. With his short game skills very much on display and his accurate driving making approach play that much easier, a final score of 44 points was to prove the best score of the day.

In second place overall and turning back the hands of time on a lifetime of service and commitment to Castle Hume, Past President and Past Captain Gerald Love came home with a super score of 42 points.

In third place was Ulster Cup player Nigel O'Connor with 41 points and completing the top four was Mark McConkey who joined his brother on the podium with a score of 40 points.

The Gross Prize was won by John Colton with 31 points. The Past Presidents winner with a score of 38 points was Jimmy Sharpe and the Visitors Prize was won by David Cullen with 36 points.

In the President's Prize to the Ladies, Christine Montgomery came out tops with a score of 37 points with Lorraine Bridge 35 points( bb9) and Margaret Graydon, 35 points completing the winners.

Congratulations to all the President's Day winners and a special thank you to all those whoso generously supported the President's Charity, Cancer Connect.

On behalf of President Fred, a big thank you to all those members and visitors who helped him celebrate this event and make his day so successful. A great day was had by all.
