Derrygonnelly 1-13 Devenish 0-09

Derrygonnelly's bid for a fourth successive senior championship title remains on course as they saw off Devenish at Brewster Park tonight to book their place in the final.

The Harps got off to a flying start when Conall Jones netted after only four minutes, the full forward out fielded Vincent O'Brien before slotting past Tom Treacy for the first score of the game.

And both sides hit the crossbar in a hectic opening spell with Ryan Jones thumping the crossbar for Derrygonnelly while Ruairi Maguire did likewise at the other end of the pitch.

The sides went on to share the first six points of the contest with Stephen McGullion, Gary McKenna and Garvan Jones on target for the Harps and Chris O'Brien, Vinnie O'Brien and Terry O'Flanagan pointing for the Garrison side.

However, Derrygonnelly took control in the closing stages of the half as they hit four points in the final three minutes through Garvan Jones, Paul Ward, Ryan Jones and Garvan McGinley to move seven ahead at the interval.

When Ryan Jones then caught the throw in at the start of the second half and powered forward to fire over it stretched the advantage out to eight points, 1-08 to 0-03.

Devenish refused to throw the towel in and they responded with four of the next five points with Tom Treacy landing two long range frees and Terry O'Flanagan and Ruairi Maguire also registering to make it 1-09 to 0-07.

The Garrison outfit, who finished with 14 men after Vinnie O'Brien picked up a second yellow,  could not get any closer than five points though as McKenna and Ciaran Mulrone swapped points before Lee Jones and Tom Treacy did the same to leave it 1-11 to 0-09.

And the Harps tagged on the final two scores of the game through Conall Jones and Lee Jones to run out seven point winners in the end.

They will now play the winner of tomorrow (Saturday) night's semi-final between Ederney and Erne Gaels in the final.
