Fivemiletown United 2

Enniskillen Athletic 0

The Under 15 BKYL Cup Final took place on Friday night at the Castle Park Centre, Lisnaskea with undefeated league champions Enniskillen Athletic taking on undefeated runners-up Fivemiletown United.

Athletic began the brighter of the two sides as expected with a host of their players fresh from the summer’s Super Cup NI and had two efforts saved by Town keeper Ethan McCaffrey.

Fivemiletown grew into the game and it was Peter Campbell who eventually broke the deadlock his first effort well saved by Athletic keeper Jamie Ray but the rebound fell back at the feet of Campbell who made no mistake of slotting the ball into bottom left corner from just outside the Athletic box.

Jamie Lee Hamilton could have added a second for Fivemiletown but his free kick was well held again by Jamie Ray and James Johnston also could have hit the scoresheet when his one on one with the Athletic keeper found its way hurtling toward goal but Athletic centre half Oisin Maguire was on hand to clear of the line in the nick of time.

The second half seen end to end football as Athletic desperately pushed for an equaliser and the Enniskillen men thought it had come but the eagle eyed linesman Sean Gallinagh spotted a shirt pull on Jack Carroll and referee Lee Orman decided against awarding Athletic their equaliser.

With the Enniskillen side Athletic committing more men forward in a last ditch attempt to pull the game into extra time they left a gap at the back and Peter Campbell picked up the ball at the half way line and went alone to knock in Fivemiletown’s second goal and ultimately the decider as they secured a 2-0 win.
