Belcoo's Brendan Dolan booked his place in the last 16 of the William Hill World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace with a 4-2 win over world number 19 Mervyn King today.
Dolan, who defeated 14th seed Joe Cullen in the last round, had never been beyond the last 32 at the championships but he got off to a great start as he claimed the opening two sets.
However, two time semi-finalist King responded to level things at 2-2 but the Fermanagh man, who had five 100 plus finishes, took the fifth set on the deciding leg with a 12 darter.
And Dolan again took the deciding leg in set number six to secure a 4-2 victory and a place in Round Four.
Next up for Dolan is the winner of the tie between dutchman Benito va de Pas and Toni Alcinas of Spain.
