Belcoo's Brendan Dolan set up a William Hill World Darts Championship quarter-final tie with Nathan Aspinall following a 4-1 victory over Benito Van de Pas at the Alexandra Palace today.

Dolan has been enjoying something of a resurgence at this championships and having already knocked out seeds Joe Cullen and Mervyn King, he went on to account for number 30 seed Van de Pas.

The Fermanagh man won the first set 3-1, finishing with a double 12 against an out of sorts Van de Pas.

And although he was wasteful omn the double at times, Dolan went on to claim the second set 3-1.

Indeed, he looked to be cruising through to the last eight as he made it 3-0 as he took out 107 to wrap up a 3-0 set.

The Dutchman though hit back with set four and when he broke the throw in the fifth he was throwing for the set.

However, Dolan responded as he broke straight back to make it two legs apiece and the 'History Maker' rounded things off with double four to put him into the last eight for the first time ever.
