St. Michael's 0-13 Abbey CBS 1-09
St Michael's secured their place in the MacRory Cup semi-final with a hard fought 0-13 to 1-09 victory over Abbey CBS Newry today in Clones.
St Michael's had trailed early on after Abbey's Eoin Carr had hit the net but at the break the Enniskillen school led 0-6 to 1-2 with Darragh McBrien and Micheal Glynn both landing two points apiece.
A good spell midway through the second half saw St Michael's push four points clear with Conor Love knocking over two points from play to make it 0-11 to 1-04.
But Abbey responded and four points on the bounce, including three frees from Niall Toner levelled up the contest with four minutes to go.
A crucial score from corner back Josh Horan though nudged St Michael's back ahead before Glynn slotted over a free to make it a two point game.
Toner did convert a free to bring the gap back to one but St. Michael's held on to secure their semi-final berth.
