Clare mirrored Fermanagh's set up and the first half was tightly contested with the home side going in with a one point advantage at the break, 0-06 to 0-05.

Sean Quigley accounted for four of Fermanagh's first half points while Che Cullen and Kane Connor also tagged on scores.

Indeed, the lead could have been greater at the interval but Ryan Lyons saw his effort at goal saved by Pierce DeLoughery in the Clare goal.

The Banner's points in the first half arrived from Kieran Malone, Conor Finaucane, Gary Brennan and two from David Tubridy.

Quigley and Jamie Malone exchanged points early in the second half but Declan McCusker and Ciaran Corrigan fired over for Fermanagh to make it a three point game.

Malone replied with a point for Clare but Fermanagh remained in control and Quigley and Breen strectched the lead out to four with seven minutes to go.

Clare did continue to battle and Keelan Sexton blazed over before Ryan Lyons restored Fermanagh's four point lead with a fine point.

In added on time Fermanagh goalkeeper Tom Treacy pulled off a good save to deny Sean O'Donoghue and although Eoin Cleary clipped over a late free, Fermanagh saw out the remainder of the contest to secure a three point win and keep their promotion bid firmly on track.
