The annual Brendan Keogh Youth League Dinner took place last Friday night at the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh with Ballinamallard captain Richard Clarke the special guest on the night.

The main award of the night as always was the ‘Services To Youth Sport’ which posthumously went to George Elliott who recently passed away.

George’s 30 years in coaching included with NFC Kesh, the Fermanagh Milk Cup teams as well as the Fermanagh Excellence Centre.

The award on the night was presented to George’s sister, Pauline Veitch, and her son Ian.

The award was presented by Steven Erskine, the chief of the new George Elliott BKYL Academy. Steven outlined the thinking behind the Academy and the obvious link to George, as well as providing an update on progress, all of it extremely positive.

A number of other awards were made on the night. The Most Sporting Coach’ Award went to Mountjoy’s Richard Donnell who was presented his award by Davy Wheeler.

And in the Fair Play Awards Fivemiltown United picked up the overall award ahead of Ardstraw and Dergview.
