Last Tuesday the Enniskillen Schools’ teams travelled to Belfast for the N.I Schools’ Cricket Finals.

The boys found themselves in Pool B of four pools.

In this group they had Donacloney, Regent Prep and Antrim. The boys topped the group going through unbeaten and even posting a massive score of 311 against Regent Prep.

Unfortunately, they did not progress past the semi-finals eventually being beaten by Pond Park.

This was a remarkable achievement considering the three other teams in the semi-finals were Inchmarlo, Pond Park and Campbell College all of which are greater Belfast area schools and Enniskillen Schools returned as the best NW region team on the day.

The girls played a league format in which they finished third, only losing to the eventual winners Damnhead by six runs which was the slimmest of margins.

They also scored the second highest amount of runs on the day. Had it been for some luck the girls could well have found themselves eventual winners.

This was a creditable performance from both our teams as ever and coaches Kenny and Stephen Maxwell were grateful for all the help from Willene and Diane on the day and the continued support from the respective schools and staff.
