Fermanagh 0-16 London 3-03

Fermanagh Ladies set aside a poor start in Clones today to overcome London and progress to an All Ireland Junior Championship Final meeting with Louth.

Johnny Garrity's side appeared to be in trouble early on as Hannah Noonan goal and a converted penalty by Avril Kilkelly helped London into a 2-01 to 0-01 lead.

However, the Erne side started to settle after this and they hit five points without reply prior to half time to go in just one down at the break.

Captain Joanne Doonan, who started the game on the bench, made an immediate impact on her introduction with two points while Eimear Smyth (2) and Aishling O'Brien also landed points to leave it 2-01 to 0-06 at the interval.

And Fermanagh continued to boss matters after half time, hitting another nine points on the bounce to move into a 0-15 to 2-01 lead.

The excellent Smyth, who finished with 0-09, added to her tally while Blaithin Bogue and Aishling Woods were also on the scoresheet as Fermanagh moved into a commanding position.

London though battled hard and they responded with 1-02, the goal coming from Catriona McGahan, to cut the gap back to three points, 0-15 to 3-03.

However, Fermanagh were to have the last say as Smyth registered the final score of the game to send her side into the September 15 final.
