Preparations are nearly complete for this Friday's Club Eirne USA Golf Classic which will take place at Castle Hume Golf Club and the organisers are keen for everybody to come along and join them after the golf in Blake's of the Hollow for an evening of craic and entertainment.

Gerard Hughes is Co-Chairman of Club Eirne USA and will be making the trip home this week for the event.

"We are delighted to be involved in organising this event and in general to be associated with Club Eirne in trying to raise funds for Fermanagh GAA. We are just trying to help out in any way that we can," explained Gerard, who lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Club Eirne and Club Eirne USA have worked hand in hand in organising the day and Gerard is looking forward to it.

"It should be good. Marty Moss who is originally from Ederney and who is part of Club Eirne USA ran the golf day in New York last year and is heavily involved in this one back home too. He will be home for it and Fergie Bogue from Tempo will also be back. We are all looking forward to it," he added.

And once the golf is over it will be back to Blake's of the Hollow to celebrate for the ex-Pats and those home based supporters.

Indeed, a top night is planned with hilarious GAA impressionist Aidan Tierney set to make an appearance and he is sure to entertain the crowd while the very popular local musician Vincey Walmsley will cap off he night.

"We are hoping that Friday night will be good craic. Aidan Tierney should be great and hopefully we will get to see some old friends as well," said Gerard.

Club Eirne Chairman, Ger Treacy, added: "The guys in Club Eirne USA have put in a lot of work in organising this event and raising much needed funds fro Fermanagh GAA over the past 3 years. Therefore it would be very fitting to see a big crowd in Blake's of the Hollow on Friday night to show their appreciation for the time, effort and commitment these expats are committing to their and our County."
