Ballinamallard manager Harry McConkey has moved to strengthen his squad ahead of season run in with the signing of duo Ryan Mayse and Mark Hannon.

Mayse will be no stranger to Mallards fans having made a big impression when he previously played for the club. He signed from Dergview back in January 2016 before moving on to Dungannon Swifts in May 2017 where he helped the side to the League Cup, scoring twice in the final.

Mayse then moved on to Ballymena United and will now return to Ferney Park on loan until the end of the season.

The attacker is an exciting player who carries a goal threat and Mallards manager Harry McConkey believes he could well prove to be a massive addition between now and the end of the season

“Ryan is a very good signing for us,” said McConkey.

“He will give us energy in wide areas with great danger and goals. He is a headache when he is on his game and in this league he will be a real threat.

“We have him on loan to the end of the season and we feel it is a good piece of work for us.”

Also coming in at Ferney Park is 21 year old Mark Hannon, the former Finn Harps and Galway United player.

Ballinamallard are currently waiting on international clearance but terms are agreed for the versatile player to join the club.

Hannon can play on the left side of defence or in the middle of the park and McConkey feels that he too will be good addition to the squad.

“Losing Ross Taheny left us a wee bit short but Mark has trained with us for a couple of weeks and he has shown great energy and he has been enjoying it. He can play on the left side of defence, as a full back or a wing back as well as midfield and we’re pleased to get him on board.

“I spoke to Galway manager Alan Murphy last Sunday and everything is clear there and he thought Mark would be a great signing for us.”

And as important as new signings the Mallards have also held on to all their players with McConkey not expecting any to leave between now and the end of the window.
