Ballinamallard Utd 1 Dundela 0
Ryan Campbell's 70th minute goal was enough to secure the points for Ballinamallard against Dundela at Ferney Park today.
The win keep's Harry McConkey's side in second place in the table, six points behind leaders Portadown but with a game in hand.
The Mallards had looked threatening at times in the first half but too often they were let down by the final ball.
Ryan Campbell had an effort blocked behind from a Ryan Mayse pull back while Campbell then broke on the right but he was unable to find the unmarked John Edgar who was in space in front of the goals.
Nathan Cashel then cut in from the left but had his shot saved by Dundela goalkeeper Ryan McBride.
At the other end, the Ducks had looked solid although John Connolly did have to get down to save a David Fearon free kick.
The decisive moment of the game though arrived in the 70th minute as Campbell raced on to a long ball and he produced a composed finish, lifting the ball over McBride to make it 1-0.
Connolly was again called into action four minutes later when he saved from a David Scullion free kick.
Darragh McBrien went close to doubling the Ducks advantage but his attempt was saved by McBride after a great run.
The home side were able to see things out after this to wrap up the points and keep them firmly in the mix as the promotion race hots up.
