Fermanagh 0-10 Armagh 3-14

Fermanagh's hopes of surviving the drop from Division Two suffered a big blow as they crashed to a 0-10 to 3-14 defeat to an impressive Armagh at Brewster Park tonight.

Kieran McGeeney's Orchard side bossed matters all over the pitch and they can now look to a promotion push in the final two games while Fermanagh worries lie at the other end of the table.

Fermanagh got off to the worst possible start as Armagh bagged their first goal in the third minute, Aidan Forker finding Jamie Clarke who finished with aplomb.

With Rory Grugan, Aidan Nugent and Rian O'Neill all tagging on points, the away side raced into a 1-04 to 0-00 advantage before Fermanagh finally opened their account in the 26th minute. Jonny Cassidy picked out Stephen McGullion with a good ball and the Derygonnelly man blazed over the bar.

When James McMahon quickly added a second point Fermanagh wouldmhave been hoping to build momentum but Armagh replied with the next four points through Jarlath Og Burns, Aidan Nugent, Rian O'Neill and Grugan.

Eoin McManus did hit the last point of the half for Fermanagh from a free but at the break they were faced with a mountain to climb as they trailed 1-08 to 0-03.

Fermanagh needed a quick start to the second half and McManus did land another free but Armagh responded with a fine Rian O'Neill point before they then grabbed their second goal.

Stephen Sheridan caught the kick out and Jarlath Og Burns and Mark Shields were involved before Aidan Forker tucked to the net.

Oisin O'Neill then tagged on a point before the Orchard plundered their thrd goal. Oisin O'Neill's attempt at a point dropped short and Nugent collected possession before firing home to make it 3-10 to 0-04.

Fermanagh did continue to battle after this but although there was still 20 minutes to go, the result was already decided.

Ryan Jones, McManus, Aidan Breen and Ciaran Corrigan all chipped in with points for Ryan McMenamin's side but Armagh answered through the O'Neill brothers, Oisin and Rian.

The sides went on to share the last four points with McManus ands Jones on target for Fermanagh while Niall Grimley and Jason Duffy registered for the Orchard who eased to the win.
