Fermanagh and Western clubs have voted this evening to end the season using average points with all promotion and no relegation.

In a tight vote it picked up 16 votes with average points with promotion and relegation having gained 14 votes.  30 of the 31 member clubs voted and the decision is subject to appeal.

This is the second time that clubs have been asked to vote on the matter after the initial vote, which had three options, namely, average points with all promotion and no relegation; average points with promotion and relegation; and null and void, was subject to an appeal from Enniskillen Town after average points with all promotion and no relegation from any Division had came out on top.

The original vote had included votes by the office bearers but the IFA Appeals' Committee found that they should not have had a vote on the matter, that it should have been the clubs only.

Town's appeal was upheld on this element and the Appeals' Committee asked the Fermanagh and Western Football League to revisit the decision.

The votes of the office bearers were then removed from the original vote and it left the two average points options tied on 11 votes each with null and void on nine. Null and void was then removed from the ballot and the other two options put to the clubs with average points with all promotion only, no relegation from any Division gaining a slender majority.

This means that Tummery are set to be confirmed as Mercer League champions for the first time while Mountfield and Enniskillen Galaxy will be awarded the Division Two and Division Three titles respectively with trophies to be presented to the clubs.
