Ederney 1-11 Belnaleck 2-2

Ederney booked their place in the semi-final of the Quinn Building Product SFC with a 1-11 to 2-2 win over Belnaleck at Brewster Park tonight.

Mickey Cassidy's charges dominated the early exchanges as they carved open a 1-5 to 0-1 lead, the goal coming from the influential Mark McCauley.

However, Belnaleck did finish the half well and a converted Garvan Quigley penalty brought them back to within five at the interval, 1-6 to 1-1.

Indeed, the gap was back to two five minutes into the second half as Darragh McGurn palmed to the net from a Quigley high ball but Ederney responded well to this and points from Mark McCauley and Sean Cassidy gave them a four point cushion.

A wonderful point from McGurn cut the gap back to three at the water break but the Art McMurroughs had both Kane Connor and Ryan McNulty dismissed five minutes from time to leave them a mountain to climb.

Substitute Darragh McBrien did blaze just wide from the angle but Ederney went on to put the game to bed as Pól McKervey and McCauley landed points to leave six in it at the finish.
