Tempo 6-07 Lisnaskea 0-07

Early goals sent Tempo on their way to becoming Intermediate Champions as they blew away the challenge of Lisnaskea.

The Maguires raced into an seven point league with less than 10 minutes to play and from then on there was no looking back for the winners with Blaithin Bogue hitting four of her sides goals.

Skea were never able to find a way back into the game with Tempo strong in defence helping to keep a clean sheet and snuff out any threat of a comeback.

For Tempo manager, Jamie Campbell winning the Intermediate was the only aim for this team and he was delighted with how his team achieved it.

"We got to the final in 2018 and we wanted to push on from that there and last year we really didn't. We just weren't at the races at all last year.

"This year we made it our main goal to win this championship and we were taking no prisoners because that was our goal. We did really well to do so. with no other things going on outside of football and the tapered season it benefitted us massively to getting to the championship final and winning it."

And Campbell admitted that the early scoring burst form his side set them up nicely for the rest of the game.

"I suppose the goals really won the game. We said if you get an early goal it's hard for the opposition team to readjust themselves and get back into it and it was."

Tempo had rattled the net within four minutes thanks to Blaithin Bogue and this was quickly followed by and Ursula Fee point before Bogue hit her second goal of the game to leave it 2-01 to no score after seven minutes.

It stayed this way until the 20th minute when Fee hit her second point while Skea had to wait until there was 25 minutes played before a Sharon Murphy free got them up and running and this was followed up by a Keeva Lynch score from play after she won the ball from the kick out to pop over.

Murphy hit another free for Skea before Bogue completed her hat trick just before the break and the same player and her sister Cadhla added points to leave it 3-04 to 0-03 at the break.

Caroline Kerins hit the first score of the half for Skea but Tempo took over and points from Blaithin Bogue and Fee were followed by a Catriona Breen goal to firmly put the game out of sight 4-06 to 0-04.

As the game wore on Kerins did manage to add further scores for Skea but Tempo kept on coming and they had a point from Cadhla Bogue before Balithin Bogue and Zoe Leonard hit two late goals to wrap up the 6-07 to 0-07 win for the Maguires who move into Ulster where they will face the winners of Donegal or Down on September 26.
