‘The History Maker’, Brendan Dolan, set up a round three meeting with number three seed Gerwyn Price at the William Hill World Darts Championship as he saw off the challenge of Edward Foulkes with a 3-1 victory at the Alexandra Palace on Tuesday lunchtime.

The Belcoo thrower came flying out of the blocks in the contest as he raced through the opening set 3-0. He claimed the opening two legs with tops and double three before taking out a 105 finish to secure a comfortable opening set.

However, Dolan failed to back this up in the second set as Japan’s Foulkes, who had caused a surprise in defeating Mike De Decker in the first round, hit back to level up matters by taking the second set 3-2.

The darts went with throw in the third set with Dolan taking out double 18 and double 32 to lead 2-1 although he then missed two darts at double four as Foulkes took the set to the deciding leg. Dolan though was able to hold his throw to go 2-1 ahead and leave him one set away from victory.

And number 30 seed Dolan made a great start to the fourth set as he broke the Foulkes throw with an 88 finish and he took the next two legs to wrap things up and progress to the next round and that clash with Price.
