The Super Cup NI is set to meet with county committee's tonight (Thursday) to discuss options for this year's competition and Fermanagh Super Cup NI Chairman, Scott Robinson, explains that they are already planning for the competition to going ahead this summer having been cancelled last year due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.

"Jim Sandford has organised a zoom meeting for Thursday night to discuss plans going forward and I suppose he wants the counties views but our view will be 100 per cent that we will go with whatever goes ahead and try and get two teams up the road for it. You want to get these young lads out playing again.

"We are planning away for it being on and we have our accommodation provisionally booked up in Portrush. We can apply for grants and there is grants coming in and as far as we are concerned it is going ahead and Jim Sandford is the same, he is very optimistic that it will go ahead in some form," said Robinson.

Fermanagh already have their management teams in place with last year's managers, Joe Corcoran (Premier) and Chris McDowell (Junior) returning and they have asked any players interested in taking part in this year's competition to fill in Express of Interest Registration Forms as they look to get up and running.

"Chris and Joe have been very proactive and we have just put this out to get registrations in, and it has been quite good. It is just to get boys doing stuff - it doesn't necessarily mean that they will get picked for the squad but at least whenever they do get a chance they are coming back with some form of fitness.

"There is quite a few have registered their interest and that is just a starter block to show the boys that we are still fully planning on having two team competing and that they are all in our thoughts and we want them pushing and being the best they can be.

"They boys are sent schedules to get them a headstart and get them into a wee bit of shape. There is wee things that they can do with a ball on their own and we know that once they get the greenlight they will be bursting to get the boots on and back on the pitch but this is just trying to give them an incentive that it will be back and we just want you ready to go," said Robinson.
