The GAA have today confirmed their revised 2021 calendar which will see the National Football League commence on the weekend of May 15/16 while the Football Championship, which will be a straight knockout with no backdoor, is scheduled to get underway on the weekend of June 26/27 with the Ulster final to be played on July 31/August 1.

The Intercounty Championships will culminate with the All-Ireland finals on August 21/22 and 27/28 in hurling and Gaelic football respectively.

The remainder of the season will then be set aside for club action and club competitions with county players can take place as county teams exit the Championships.

Ryan McMenamin's football side will face Cavan, Derry and Longford on a round robin basis in a regionalised Division Three North with the games to be played over three successive weeks from May15/16/. The top two in the group will progress to the league semi-finals followed by a league final while the bottom two will face relegation semi-finals with the losers relegated to Division Four for the next season.

League finals are to be played on June 19/20 but only if counties involved are not playing in the Championship the following weekend. If that is the case, the two finalists will be claimed joint winners and promoted.
