Ballinamallard 2 Derrgview 2

(Dergview won 9-8 on penalties)

Dergview's Graham Crown hit the decisive spot kick as Ballinamallard made their exit from the Irish Cup following a penalty shoot out at Ferney Park today.

It was Ivan Sproule's side who claimed the lead after 25 minutes as Matthew Kirk produced a composed finish to the roof of the net.

However, the home side hit back and with 37 minutes gone they were back on level terms as the impressive Darragh McBrien skipped in from the left and clipped the ball to the bottom corner.

Dergview regained the initiative through Cathal Farren who broke from midfield to fire home in the 64 th minute but the home side pressed for an equaliser after this with Chris Kelly heading wide from close range and McBrien having a free kick tipped over the bar by Paul Wells in the Dergview goal.

The equaliser did arrive though in the 82nd minute as Ross Taheny crashed home a strike from a McCartney corner.

The visitors though were to take the derby honours in the spot kick with Crown stepping up to convert the crucial kick at the finish.
