Despite the rain, Lady Captain Gillian Wilson hosted her long awaited Captain’s Day on Saturday August 21.
Over 60 golfers joined her as they competed for an array of beautiful prizes and for the ladies the magnificent ‘Lady Captain’s Cup’.
The weather proved to be a bit of a challenge with torrential rain for most of the day, however, everyone enjoyed not only their golfing day and the fabulous refreshments on the 9th and 13th holes (thank you Lindsey), but also managed to submit fairly decent scores on the day.
Christine Fitzsimmons was overjoyed to be announced as the overall winner with a score of nett 75.
The evening celebrations brought together old and new friends and Lady Captain Gillian expressed her sincere thanks to all those who helped prepare the course, the club house and her meal for her special day. Gillian also paid heartfelt thanks to the generosity of everyone to her chosen charity, Eplisepy Action N.I. The culmination of the evening was the announcement of the results which were much anticipated and eagerly awaited. The full lists of results are as follows:
