Enniskillen Rangers 1 NFC Kesh 1

Jordan Cadden bagged a 90th minute equaliser as NFC Kesh grabbed a draw against Enniskillen Rangers at the Ball Range on Saturday.

Rangers had thought that they were set to take all three points after Mark Cutler tapped home ten minutes from time but Cadden ensured that the sides had to be content with a point apiece from the contest.

Rangers player manager Neil Coulter was disappointed not to have held on for the win after taking that late lead.

“In the end it was disappointing when we went a goal up not to see it out. I thought that they had the better chances in the first half but we were on the front foot in the second half.

“Look, we’ll take a lot of positives out of it, I thought that the work rate and attitude was good and it was good to get 90 minutes into Michael (Kerr) and also to get Eoin McManus on the pitch,” said Coulter.

Kesh manager Scott Robinson felt his side should have been ahead at the break and that a point was the very least they deserved from the game.

“We were the better side in the first half and it was disappointing not to be in front at half time but our decision making in the final third let us down, and that has been our problem all season,” said Robinson.

“We went a goal down so we could have ended up with nothing but I thought that the very least we deserved from the game was a point,” he added.

Kesh had looked threatening in the opening 45 minutes of the contest with Danny Wilson forcing a good save out of ‘Gers goalkeeper Joel Pedan while Grant Ellis had a chance but headed wide.

Wilson also looked as if he was in again but he was denied by a fine tackle by centre half Richard Johnston.

At the other end, Rangers best chance of the half fell to Jason Keenan who cut in from the left but his strike was well saved by Stefan McCusker in the Kesh goal.

The second half saw Rangers started to get their foot on more ball and with 80 minutes on the clock they struck to take the lead.

A Neil Coulter free kick into the box ended up going over the end-line and the referee awarded the home side a disputed corner.

Rainey swung the ball in and Cutler saw his header well saved by McCusker but the rebound spilled back to Cutler who made no mistake at the second attempt to put the home side a goal to the good.

Indeed, they could have doubled that lead five minutes later when they broke in a three on two situation through Rainey, McManus and Cutler but the final ball let them down and the chance was lost.

And they were to pay for this late on as Kesh hit back to level.

Substitute Mark Jones crossed for Cadden who finished well to make it 1-1.

Kesh then had an opportunity to snatch all three points but Coulter made a great tackle on Ryan Campbell to leave it all square at the final whistle.
