With a month to go until competitive men’s senior football club action gets underway in the county, details of the the league format have been released by the Fermanagh County Board.

On April 30, the Club Players’ Competition will begin as Divisions One and Two are split in half as teams play these games without their county players.

In Division 1A, will see Derrygonnelly Harps, Derrylin O’Connells, Devenish St. Mary’s, Roslea Shamrock and St. Pat’s, Donagh play each other.

Division 1B looks like an ultra competitive groups comprising of Belnaleck Art McMurroughs, Ederney, St. Joseph’s, Enniskillen Gaels, Erne Gaels and Kinawley Brian Borus.

In the opening round of fixtures, Derrylin will take on Derrygonnelly and Roslea will face Devenish in Division 1A. In Division 1B Belnaleck welcome Kinawley while Erne Gaels entertain Enniskillen.

In Division Two, the split will see Brookeborough, Coa, Maguiresbridge, Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler compete in 2A while Aghadrumsee, Belcoo, Irvinestown, Teemore and Tempo make up 2B.

Coa take on Newtown while Lisnaskea have a derby against Maguiresbridge in their first game in 2A.

In 2B Belcoo are at home to Irvinestown while Tempo travel to Aghadrumsee.

All games begin at 6.30pm on Saturday, April 30.

Unlike last year there will be no final played between the top two teams in each group.

The top team in each group will receive three points to bring forward to the Senior League; second place will get two points and third place will carry forward one point.

Following the Club Players’ Competition, the Senior Football League is scheduled to start on Friday, June 24 at 8pm.

The B. McCaffrey & Sons Erne Cup will begin on Saturday, April 9 at 6.30pm.

The new format brings to the Senior and Intermediate Championships in 2022 a round-robin basis.

The first round of the Mannok Senior Championship and Kevin Courtney Car Sales & Garage Intermediate Football Championship will take place on the weekend September 9-11, with the second and third rounds being played on the two following weekends.

The relegation final in both grades with take place on October 1-2 as will the 2nd v 3rd play offs.

The semi-finals are to be held on the weekend October 7-10 with the Senior Final to be played on October 23 while the Intermediate decider will be played on either October 22 or 23.

The dates are subject to change to one week later if Fermanagh’s winners avoid the First Round of the Ulster Club Championship.

The Peter Carty Director Junior Football Championship will be organised on a knock-out basis,with a back door, for 2022.

The quarter-finals will begin on September 9-11 followed by semi-final one and the third quarter-final on September 23-25.

The second semi-final will take place on October 1-2 with the final on October 16.

The Reserve Championship, which will be played on a round robin basis, will begin on July 2 or 3 with the final on September 4.

In hurling, the Junior Championship starts on August 2 with the final to be played on August 21.
