20 junior crews from Enniskillen Royal Boat Club travelled to Trinity Regatta last Saturday, where they went on to win in five of their categories.

This was the first time that some of these younger rowers had raced side by side and they all performed well, gaining lots of experience to take with them as the rowing season continues in earnest.

This event across 1,800m of the Liffey at Island bridge attracted a very large entry, including a crew from Cambridge University Ladies BC.

ERBC’s first win came from Ben Cameron, Oliver McNeary, Bruno Favro-Maguire, Oliver Woods and cox Abbey Wilson in the MJ14 4x+ against Neptune RC which they won easily.

The MJ16 4x+ crew of Jacob Halliday, Owen Kelly, Joshua Coalter,Oliver Khew and cox Katelyn Fee had three great races and they beat the crew from Clonmel in the final by four lengths.

Kate Huddlestone and Isabella Wright had a fantastic race in the WJ15 double final to take the win over the girls from Commercial RC.

Justin Smith and Hugo McChesney crossed the finish line well ahead of the crew from Kings Hospital School in the Mens’ J15 2X final.

The Girls’ J14 4x+ crew of Abbey Johnston, Emily Black, Isabella Wright, Natalie Turner and cox Abbey Wilson beat the crew from Graiguenam RC to take their well-deserved win.

The Boys’ J16 eight raced a strong novice crew from Trinity university and gained invaluable racing experience to bring forward to their next race.

The Senior rowers and the two Junior 14 crews who will compete at the National Schools Regatta at Eton Dorney next weekend remained at home to train on Lough Erne over the weekend.
