The Senior crews will head off to Cork to compete in the Irish Rowing Championships, which will start tomorrow (Friday) and continue for three days. The girls’ and boys’ Junior 18 crews who competed at Henley Royal Regatta two weeks ago are both in action this weekend at Inniscarra.

The girls’ crew – Aine McCaffrey, Laura Turner, Acorn Cassidy, Katie Donnelly, Martha McBrien, Chloe Thompson, Niamh Campbell, Rachel Cullinan and cox Grace Ralph – are hoping to retain their title on Sunday morning.

Cox Grace Ralph will also be taking the boys’ eight – Tom Blake, Marcus Davis-Kunze, Oran Harty, Tim Murphy, Lewis Nixon, Charlie Smith, Nathan Kelly and Luke Paton – as they hope to take the Junior Championship title back from St. Joseph’s Galway on Saturday afternoon.

Time trial

The J16 quad of Oliver Khew, Rory Keogh, Joshua Coalter, Jacob Halliday and cox Katelyn Fee will start off ERBC’s Championship campaign on Friday morning with a time trail, the six fastest crews progressing to the final.

Tim Murphy, Charlie Smith, Marcus Davis-Kunze, Oran Harty and Frankie Rehill will compete in the Inter 4+ against crews from UCD, NUIG, and Trinity University, among others.

The boys’ crew of Lewis Nixon, Callum Timoney, Nathan Kelly, Oran Harty, Conor Richardson, John O’Kane, Luke Paton, Kyle Abraham and cox Frankie Reihill will also compete in the club eight against St. Joseph’s, Queen’s University, Trinity, UCD and Methody.

Marcus Davis-Kunze, Tom Blake, Tim Murphy, Charlie Smith and cox Katelyn Fee will race the Junior Coxed Four against Castleconnell BC, St. Joseph’s, and Colaiste Iognaid, among some others.

John O’Kane, Callum Timoney, Conor Richardson and Kyle Abraham will race the Coxless Quadruple Sculls on Saturday morning.

Matthew Shaw, Jacob Halliday, Joshua Coalter, and Oliver Khew will compete in the J16 single sculls, and some of the boys will also compete in the double sculls.

The girls will compete in the Coxless Four on Saturday afternoon. Aine McCaffrey, Laura Turner, Acorn Cassidy and Katie Donnelly will face the challenge from Bann RC, Galway, and Commercial, among others.
