The Lady Captain Brid Sullivan hosted her day on Saturday last and all went well apart from the raindrops, no player got playing 18 holes without having to put up the brolly at some point.
Having said that, scoring was high with Ann Harte 39pts taking the top prize.
Next in line was Grainne Thurston with 36pts and the gross prize went to Laura Brown. Catriona Cunningham was third, fourth went to Deirdre Forde and Karen Bull was placed fifth.
Lots of prizes
The Past Captain’s prize went to Geraldine O Neill, the front nine was won by Gladys Fisher and the back nine by Phylis Power, nearest to the pin went to Geraldine Smith and the longest drive to Laura Brown.
The visitor’s prize was won by Mary Donohoe with Patricia Bohan second.
In the men’s section, Eamon Cox took his second big win of the year with 42pts, Declan Hurley was second with 39pts and the gross was won by Seamus Cullen.
The captain’s dinner was excellent with family visitors and members enjoying great food and dancing the night away to the fantastic music by Declan and Marlene.
The additional talent of Kathy Durkan throwing in her Working Man got loud applause.
Following in the Sullivan family tradition, the three generations of the O’Súilleabháin family played a tune to pay tribute and remember the late Frank Sullivan Snr (RIP).
