Club Éirne’s ambitious fundraising competition ‘Win A House In Fermanagh’ went live on September 1.

The plans for the fundraiser were launched at Club Éirne’s Race Day in Fairyhouse back in June and they are now ready to go live with tickets now able to be purchased at www.winahouseinfermanagh.com.

The prize for the winner will be a magnificent, newly built, four-bedroom detached house at Drumgarrow Village on the edge of Enniskillen, the island county town of Fermanagh. The superb property is a wonderful prize for the winner either as a home, a rental property or if you are from outside the County it can be a brilliant second home which is ideally located to allow the owner to discover the wonderful attractions of Fermanagh and indeed neighbouring counties.

This fantastic prize will be supplemented by a number of Early Bird prizes, the first of which is a 3-night stay for 2 guests, bed and breakfast, a round of golf on the Faldo Course, and an evening meal in the Loughside Grill at the 5-star Lough Erne Resort, the winner of which will be drawn on 31st October.

The funds raised will be ring fenced and be used for the re-development of the facilities at Fermanagh GAA’s training centre at Lissan, bringing them up to the standards required to meet the modern needs of all the county’s players, from underage right through to the senior sides.

Work has already begun at Lissan with the upgrading of the two pitches and now, with plans already passed for a sports pavilion which will include a 3,000sq ft strength and conditioning hub, changing facilities and meeting rooms, as well as work to enhance the outside area at Lissan with parking, floodlighting and a covered stand, a lot more money will be required to bring these to fruition.

It is expected that the cost of the re-development of Lissan could run to £2.5 million and Club Éirne are targeting 12,000 ticket sales. Tickets will cost £100 each.

Club Éirne chairman, Ger Treacy has urged all people in the county and expats across the world to get behind this once in a generation fundraising competition, especially as the clubs in the County are also set to benefit financially from it.

“Every ticket sold by a club member will see 25% go back into their club, so with tickets costing £100, £25 from each sale will return to the ticket seller’s club.

I think it is key that everyone in the county and further afield that care about Fermanagh GAA gets behind this big fundraising initiative that Club Éirne and our fellow members in Club Eirne USA have been working on for quite some time now.

For me, it is a win-win for the clubs, and it must be an initiative by the clubs for the clubs,” Treacy said.

“Tickets go live online for the fundraising competition this week with hard copies also available through designated Club representatives. This is your opportunity to be part of a really exciting development in Fermanagh and win a superb newly built house.”
