Enniskillen 1-11 Ederney 0-10

An Ethan Beresford goal early in the second half proved to be the key score as Enniskillen saw off Ederney by four points at Brewster Park tonight.

After a tight first half the sides went in level at the break having shared eight points but the Gaels took a grip on proceedings at the start of the second half as they hit 1-02 to move into a five point lead.

And although Ederney battled hard the home side were able to keep them at arms length over the reaminder of the contest to seal the victory.

Conor Love, who was a lively presence in the Enniskillen attack, landed his side's opening two points with Paul McCusker and Chris Snow ('45) replying for Ederney.

Brandon Horan edged Enniskillen back ahead while at the other end Ederney were guilty of some wayward shooting although points from Pol McKervey and a Snow free did have them 0-04 to 0-03 ahead.

The Gaels were close to finding the net late in the half but Ryan McDonnell's effort came back off the base of the post, however, an Eoin Beacom point left it 0-04 apiece at the break.

Enniskillen though took control as Beresford fired to the net after good play by Brandon Horan and Conor McShea, before Love and the increasingly influential McShea put them 1-06 to 0-04 in front by the 36th minute.

Ederney though regrouped and the excellent Conor McGee and Jacob Britton tagged on points to make it 1-06 to 0-06 but they could not get any closer than three points as Enniskillen responded with three of the next four points.

Richie O'Callaghan and Paul McCusker traded points before Love and McShea extended the Gaels lead out to five 1-09 to 0-07.

Ederney though were almost right back in the game when Ryan Maguiere was put through but his rising shot clipped the top of the crossbar and went over.

Love and McGee then traded points before Enniskillen were reduced to 14 men as Ryan McDonnell picked up a second yellow card.

McGee then clipped over his third point of the game to leave the goal dividing the sides in added on time but Enniskillen went down the other end and O'Callaghan fired over the insurance score as the Gaels finished up 1-11 to 0-10 victors.
