A NEW choir for young people aged eight to 18 is being established in the County.

Fermanagh Youth Community Gospel Choir has been the vision of a group of musicians in the area for a while.

They are seeking to bring together young people from across all communities to sing together contemporary gospel music in a fun and dynamic choir.

“We aim to bring young people together encouraging friendships and mutual understanding, encouraging community relations and becoming a positive addition to the local community,” key organiser, Lisa Quigley explained, “We are planning some community performances in the run up to Christmas.

“We are looking for young singers aged eight to 18. No experience is necessary and there will be no auditions- only an enthusiasm and love of singing is needed!” Permission has been granted to use Fermanagh Christian Fellowship, now based at the Killyhevlin Industrial Estate as a rehearsal venue.

The choir will meet every Thursday from 7.30pm until 8.30pm, beginning next Thursday, September 25.

Further details regarding the choir can be found on its Facebook page: fermanagh youth community gospel choir or by contacting Lisa on 028 6634 1933.

Registration will take place from 7.15pm on the first evening (September 25). Everyone will be most welcome.
