THE Regal in Enniskillen will play host to its first dance of 2015 this Saturday night.

Appearing are Robert Brown of Showbud and local country and Irish singer, Thomas Milligan.

Thomas was well-known in the country music scene in Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s, until a road accident in 2001 forced him to take a break. He had missed the music scene over the years and late last year decided to go into the studio to record a single, ‘Waltz Down Memory Lane’.

The response from fans, old and new, was tremendous and as a result a second single followed, ‘Love A Little’.

Both of the singles are included on Thomas’ album ‘What I Wanna Do’; an album which shows Thomas’ love of Irish country music.

As a youngster, Thomas grew up listening to the songs of the late Larry Cunningham, Brian Coll, and Big Tom, to name but a few, and today these artists still have an influence on his music tastes. In fact it has been commented on more than one occasion that Thomas’ deep soft singing tones are similar to that of the late Larry Cunningham.

Thomas’ new single ‘Adios Larry Cunningham’ was written by the well-known Eugene Cunningham, who has written songs for many country music artists.

Said Thomas: “I never thought I’d be back so soon asking DJs to give me airtime after my recent two singles and album release. It all seems to have snowballed from February (last year) when I launched the first single. I feel I am indebted to everyone.” The Regal is situated in Regal pass, just above Toytown. Doors open at 9pm and dancing is from 10pm until 1am.
