Veteran republican Michael Lavelle has appeared before Fermanagh Magistrate's Court on firearm and explosives charges.
The 59-year-old pensioner from Lettergreen Road, Donagh, Lisnaskea, is charged with having a handgun and detonation cord in suspicious circumstances on June 19, 2006.
A police officer told the court that he was aware of the background to the case and believed he could connect Lavelle with the charges.
Lavelle was released on 750 bail on condition that he reports twice a week to Lisnaskea Police Station.
Defence solicitor, Mr. Tony McGettigan, said Lavelle was in receipt of Incapacity Benefit and Disability Living Allowance and two small pensions.
The case was adjourned until March 12, to allow time for the preparation of a full police file on the case.
