‘Getting a wee touch of the cold’ Meaning: This is said when you are acutely aware that the viral infectious disease of your upper respiratory tract (primarily affecting your nose) is in fact a cold.
Example: Bob to Charlie: “Charlie, I am dying”.
Charlie to Bob: “What would be wrong with you?” Bob to Charlie: “I wouldn’t be near well”.
Charlie to Bob: “That’s a terra”.
Bob to Charlie: “I doubt I am getting a wee touch of the cold”.
