The Western Trust has extended its consultation on Reform of Day Care Services for Primary Care and Older People for four weeks until Friday, May 22.

The Trust proposes a new three-tiered model of day care provision relating to three levels of service which it says will “allow the Trust’s Day Care services to support clients across all levels of assessed need, in a way which ensures that the service is sustainable for our clients now and in the future.” Under the proposals, Carn Court in Rosslea would close and users would be expected to travel to Drumhaw in Lisnaskea or Tempo Road Day Centre in Enniskillen. Garrison and Belcoo would merge with Derrygonnelly, which would become a Level 1 centre that deals with the highest level of need. Garrison would become a level 2 centre (a social and luncheon club.) Garrison, Belcoo and Newtownbutler would become Level 2 Centres (social/luncheon club). Teemore would remain a Level 1 Centre and Teemore and Derrygonnelly to become a two day service.

A Spokesperson for the Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) said: “The Western Trust has agreed to extend its consultation on proposals for the reform of Day Care Services within Primary Care and Older People Services. The consultation will now close at 4pm on Friday 22 May 2015.
