THE principal designate of Enniskillen Royal Grammar, the school created through an amalgamation of Portora Royal and Collegiate Grammar in September this year, can expect to bring home a salary in the region of £70,000 to £80,000.

An advertisement seeking interested candidates for the post was added to NIJobFinder online two weeks ago, advising that the salary will be between £68,961 to £79,872 per annum.

It advises potential candidates to be aware of the ongoing Judicial Review challenge, brought forward by a pupil from Collegiate Grammar School, to the Minister for Education’s decision to approve the establishment of the new Voluntary Grammar School.

Although a decision is expected on the legal challenge on February 3 in Belfast’s High Court, the job advertisement says:
“It is not known when the High Court will deliver a judgement on the Judicial Review, though the actual hearing has concluded.
“The Interim Board of Governors for the Enniskillen Royal Grammar School has, however, taken the decision to continue the recruitment process for the post of Principal Designate.”

The closing date for applications for the post is tomorrow (Friday).
