Stephen O'Flynn converted an injury time penalty as Ballinamallard came from behind to secure a 2-1 win  against Ballymena Utd at the Showgrounds today.

With both Carrick and Warrenpoint winning, the Mallards were set to drop into the bottom two with one game to go but O'Flynn stepped up to slot home from the spot in added on time after David Cushlye had handled on the line.

The result leaves the Mallards tenth in the table, one point ahead of Warrenpoint and two ahead of Carrick, who they play in the final game of the campaign next Saturday.

The sides were locked together at 0-0 at the break but Ballymena took the lead through Anthony Kane's free kick a minute into the second half.

However, Emmet Friars headed the Mallards level in the 66th minute before O'Flynn held his nerve from the spot in added on time to clinch a crucial three points for Whitey Anderson's charges in a relegation scrap which will go down to the final game of the season.
