STARCAMP gave 60 children a week packed full of singing, dancing, acting, arts and crafts and loads of fun and games, based at the Model Primary School in Enniskillen.
Camp was led by Jane Mallen, Nicole Morrow, Ashleigh McCabe and Ella Daly. Children ranging in age from 4 to 12 year took part .
This has been our second successful year in Enniskillen. The main aim of Starcamp is to build the self esteem and confidence of all the children.
Starcamp takes place in 170 towns across 32 counties. Boys and girls aged 4-12 spend one week of their summer holidays playing camp games, singing Disney classics, dancing to the latest chart topper, acting out their favourite movie scene, doing arts and crafts.
The core ethos has always been to instil confidence in children. A spokesperson said:
“Having included some basic mindfulness techniques last year, it was such an incredibly positive hit with the children that it is being incorporated in a small way into all camps this year, just for a couple of minutes each day. It is simply getting the children to relax and then guiding their thoughts to a positive and relaxed place whereby compassion and self-belief are encouraged.”
