INDEPENDENT Councillor Bernice Swift (pictured) has pledged to “do what’s right” and deliver “first class broadband” for Fermanagh and Omagh constituents.
The newly nominated chairwoman of the Council’s Broadband Working Group was speaking at a committee meeting at Enniskillen Townhall after the U.K government minister responsible for digital and the creative industries said broadband was a “modern necessity.”
In her letter to the Council, Minister Margot James MP explained that the Government has changed the law to ensure “universal broadband access” for residents and business owners.
In response, Councillor Swift said: “We will do what’s right by our constituents and we’ll get our super fast and ultra fast delivered as is the right. We will have first class broadband for our constituents,” she said.
