This upcoming weekend Killadeas Priory Church are holding a festival of Christmas Wreaths.

A first for the Priory, it is hoped that as many people as possible will visit the church on Saturday December 8 and Sunday December 9 to view the many imaginative displays of Christmas Wreaths which have been sponsored by parishioners, local businesses and local charities to highlight their role in the community.

The event is being used as a fundraiser partly for the church which has undergone extensive building works this year, and partly for the RNLI whose voluntary work, in this community in particular, is so vital.

The Festival, which is being organised by the Priory Outreach group, also aims to be an inclusive event for the whole community.

A fun afternoon of wreath making took place on Saturday last where interested people from across the local area tried their hands at being creative, which revealed an amazing array of styles and forms of wreaths.

The event is open from 10am until 3pm on Saturday and from 2pm until 5pm on Sunday.

Refreshments will be served in the small hall behind the church during these hours for the cost of a donation to the event.

The event will close at 5pm on Sunday with a soiree which includes music by Irvinestown Community Choir and a variety of local artistes .
