According to Police sources, a cattle lorry has overturned on the Cavan Road near Newtownbutler this morning (Friday January 11), resulting in the closure of the road.

A spokesman on behalf of the Police Service of Northern Ireland stated: "Police received a report that a lorry had overturned on the Cavan Road, Newtownbutler at around 6.25am on Friday January 11. There were no reports of any serious injuries, however, the road has been closed to facilitate the recovery of the vehicle. Diversions are in place."

It is understood that the N54 route is currently closed between Clones and Cavan Town on the Fermanagh stretch near Finn River and Clogher Market whilst emergency services deal with the incident, which is believed to have occurred due to fuel on the road.

A BT pole is understood to have also been damaged in the incident.
